Miranda Martinez (Producer/Actress)

Miranda Martinez has been heavily involved in various areas of media since 1998. As an actress, Miranda has appeared in many regional and national commercials as well as independent films. Behind the scenes, she has performed various crew positions, ranging from production coordinator, to casting assistant and director to 1st AD. In 2001 Miranda co-founded Martice Enterprises with her producing partner Marco Antonio Rodriguez. Martice was a theatre production company that produced several award-winning and critically acclaimed stage plays; including the Dallas stop of Rick Najera’s LATINOLOGUES, starring famous Latin comedian Eugenio Derbez, which ended up performing for on Broadway. Martice's original play HEAVEN FORBID(S)!" won Outstanding New Play by the Dallas-Fort Worth Theater Critics Forum Awards. Miranda founded her film production company called Barú Films, seeking funding for 4 projects.
She has worked casting many projects since 2002 and has had the opportunity to assist directors in casting commercials, real people and Hispanic market projects. Miranda specializes in consulting & coaching on Spanish dialects. She worked under casting director Jo Edna Boldin on the series CHASE (NBC) and two major motion pictures: THE LAST STAND (Arnold Schwarzenegger's 2013 film) as well as THE LONE RANGER (with Johnny Depp). In Los Angeles, she worked in the NBC/SONY Pilot WELCOME TO THE FAMILY under casting directors Alyson Silverbert & Yolanda Guillen.
Miranda trains in Los Angeles under Gary Austin, The Groundlings founder and original artistic director. Miranda is represented in Los Angeles by Coast to Coast Talent Group. Originally from the Republic of Panama, Miranda arrived in the US only speaking Spanish. Five years later, she graduated with a BBA in marketing from Southern Methodist University. She is of Chinese, Spanish, Puerto Rican and Jamaican descent.
