Miranda Martinez (Producer/Actress)
Miranda Martinez has been heavily involved in various areas of media since 1998. As an actress, Miranda has appeared in many regional and national commercials as well as independent films. Behind the scenes, she has performed various crew positions, ranging from production coordinator, to casting assistant and director to 1st AD. In 2001 Miranda co-founded Martice Enterprises with her producing partner Marco Rodriguez. Martice is a theatre production company that has produced several award-winning and critically acclaimed stage plays; including the Dallas stop of Rick Najera’s Latinologues, starring famous Latin comedian Eugenio Derbez, which ended up performing for on Broadway. Martice's original play "Heaven Forbid(s)!" won Outstanding New Play by the Dallas-Fort Worth Theater Critics Forum Awards. Miranda just founded her own film production company called Barú Films, currently seeking funding for 8 projects.
Miranda trains in Dallas at REACT Studio, Four Day Weekend Improv, and with top casting director Toni Cobb-Brock. Miranda is represented in Dallas by The Horne Agency, in Austin, Louisiana & Los Angeles by TAG Talent and in Houston by Pastorini-Bosby Talent. Originally from the Republic of Panama, Miranda arrived in the US only speaking Spanish. Five years later, she graduated with a BBA in marketing from Southern Methodist University. She is of Chinese, Spanish, Puerto Rican and Jamaican descent.
